A Beginners Taughts on Affiliate Programs

I've recently started learning about creating websites and I have to admit it is addictive. I love trying to drive traffic to my site and seeing the visitor number rise and another little bit of excitement always comes when I click on the affiliate reports to see have I made any money.

I've decided to write this quick note so that maybe my experiences will help other beginners get going. I am not a web guru which I keep reading about and I am definitely making a terrible amount of money but here is my two cents on a few affiliates anyway.

BidVertiser

Bidvertiser seems to be a good one to me, you can place normal adds like you would with Google Adsense or you can pay for your adds to be displayed or alternatively you can make money by referring people to BidVertiser. The referral is particularly good as you can make good money just for being the person who guided a new user to the BidVertiser community. It seems ok to me and I see no harm in having these sort of adds around as they come in many shapes and sizes to suit all sites.

AdBrite

This is my second favourite affiliate after Adsense because it is very good for pay per impression adds which I had been looking for my gaming site. It works in pretty much the same way as Adsense but it allows other add options such as pop up pages and in text adds which are useful for different people too.

Amazon

This is a different type of affiliate to the others, with amazon you get a commission of the sale price only when an item is purchased i.e. a click on a link will not earn you money.

Google Adsense

I've left this one until last because most people will probably already know it, Google Adsense provides ads that are targeted to your site content, it is very user friendly program and I have no problems with it.
